i already miss all my friends that i have been able to hang out with the last three days — it was a BLAST! my awesome friend and spectacular photographer CHRiSTOPHER KERN (www.christopherkern.com)did such a beautiful job and made being on set so much fun. he really does such a great job of capturing the beauty of the gorgeous models and my fabulous make-up looks and applications.
CHRiSTOPHER and i got to bring along our gal pal and stylist friend PAULiNE MONTUPET (www.paulinemontuet.com) who wrangled up all the groovy fashion the models got to wear. all i have to say is that we were all really impressed with the clothing she brought along that were from her mom’s collection — i mean whose mom has vintage DOLCE and GABBANA or CHANEL??? it’s always great having a strong stylist to complete the look and feel of the shoot.
good help is always hard to find, luckily my bestest friend and hottest girlfriend is always u to help me out with my gigantic jobs, i love HOLLY HOWARD (www.dripbook.com/HollyHoward/splash/). i really love having a right hand gal that i can trust to carry out the vision that i have and create beautiful looks. she is such a talented girl!
looking forward to playing with my friends again in the near future! keep your eyes out for the work on BENEFiT’s website (www.benefitcosmetics.com) and in SEPHORA (www.sephora.com) stores across the nation.
day 2 of the BENEFiT (www.benefitcosmetics.com) shoot went awesomely smooth. the morning we spent at the fabulous LEFT SpACE STUDiOS (www.leftspace.com) doing all the u close and persona beauty shots with the lovely ladies. the second half of the day we journeyed out of the air conditioned studio to the heat, too hot for this 60 degree boy!!! i was reminded while out at the beach shooting how much i hate the wind and how it doesn’t help in creating tamed well styled hair. tomorrow is the last days, going to miss hanging out with our sensational crew.
it was day one with my favorite make.up company BENEFiT (www.benefitcosmetics.com), nothing makes you feel more girly then the pink packaging of BENEFiT. it was such a great day working with such lovely ladies – KATiE from LOOK, KRiSTY from FORD, and SAjATA from STARS. the second part of our day was spent walking around in the gorgeous weather of San Francisco taking pictures along the streets and visiting a couple of the friendly stores. i decided to document our journey through the mission with some fun little polaroids.
looking forward to such a fun week with these girls and this amazing CREW!
i thought that i would share one more video from the SEARS (www.sears.com) back to school videos. this one shows the models chatting about what they love in back to school styles BUT gives you a behind the scenes of the photo shoot and me creating some of the looks. it’s pretty darn fun.
part of my SEARS job agreement was that i would allow them to video tape me while working and even give them little bits of me talking while working. this morning while searching the web to pass the time and crossing my fingers to run across something of mine to blog about and i found this:
My good friend CHRiSTOPHER KERN (www.christopherkern.com) is finally BUT slowly moving back to the bay area, thanks goodness! I wanted to catch up with the gorgeous guy and asked him to have a lunch date with me…but him being brilliant turned our date into a creative photo shoot!
What a small world when the first model showed up, we – meaning her and I – had actually gone to cosmetology school together like 6 years ago! JAMiE who just signed with LOOK (www.lookagency.com) is absolutely beautiful – I didn’t even recognize her because her chin length hair had grown to past mid-back. It was super fun being her first hair and make.up artist on her first gig as a real full force model. then to even make the day crazier my model muse friend BROOKE (www.fordmodels.com) walked in and actually knew JAMiE as well. They worked together at a salon in the east bay, BROOKE being the receptionist and JAMiE doing her assistant program. Seriously some major three degrees of separation going on.
The whole shoot was based on beauty but I wanted to make the focus on one of the girls features, the lips or the eyes. The first look on each was nude eyes with a pop of bright colored lip stick. The second look was really smoky eyes and very pale nude lips. I loved the transformation from one look to the other. As for the hair it was a simple day for me since CHRiSTOPHER wanted it to be wet, so I ended up being the wet hair wrangler. ALi (www.lookagency.com) loved it cause she had never had a shoot with wet hair.
the tool of the week is a little black want that makes cleaning up your eyebrows a little easier, it is the EYE BROW TOUCH.UP RAZOR (www.sephora.com). tweezing those little hairs can be painful, time consuming, and they can be a bit hard to get. these razors come in super handy for those moments in between your brow waxing appointment at BENEFiT’s (www.benefitcosmetics.com) brow bar or perhaps you’re a fan of threading. a quick wave of this tool over and below your eyebrow cleans up those nasty hairs that pop up to ruin your perfect arch.
last week my friday activity of shooting with RESTORATiON HARDWARE (www.restoriationhardware.com) for their baby and kids holiday catalogue was cancelled, i decided that i couldn’t just sit home and relax — so i texted my good buddy BRYAN DAViS (www.bryandavisimages.com) and asked him to play.
he was happy to oblige and called up his friend at the sensational LOOK MODELiNG AGENCY (www.lookmodels.com) where they supplied us with a blonde girl that we were looking for in the form of ALEXiS. she did such a superb job in capturing the feeling and mood of the shoot we were going for. it was super fun taking her from the grungy punk rock girl she came as and whipping her up into a clean precious Disney princess!
i can’t wait for BRYAN to swipe his magical touches over these photos so i can show you the final images. for now you have to suffer with my amazing iphone photo skills – which aren’t much.
just when you thought that you were OVER seeing or hearing about my fabulous work that i and my cohorts did for SEARS (www.sears.com) back to school – THERE iS MORE! this may just be the icing on the cake! the TEEN’s FASHiON BiBLE – TEEN VOGUE (www.teenvogue.com) has a two page ad promoting the super cool fashions you can find at your local SEAR’s. yeppers, that my gorgeous hair styling on those super duper adorable girls. so run out to your local grocery store, book store, or seven eleven (that’s where i picked up mine) and get your TEEN VOGUE!
i am just a boy who fills my day with glimmery eye shadows, lushes lipsticks, shimmery blushes, and candy scented hair products. with my artillery of scissors, hot tools, extensions, brushes, and pink clips i make the world more sparkly.
